Fast Feedback is an online assessment platform that enables teachers to create, assign, and review typed and multiple-choice quizzes. The platform also allows handwritten or scanned student responses to be processed through OCR and AI-powered similarity scoring. All processing—including GPT-based marking support and reteach generation—takes place securely within the Fast Feedback Microsoft Azure tenant hosted in the UK.
Fast Feedback Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15984914).
These Terms of Service apply to anyone using Fast Feedback, including individual teachers, schools, groups of schools, and multi-academy trusts. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
1. Account Types and Responsibilities
1.1 Free Teacher Accounts (Individual Use)
- Free accounts are intended for personal, non-organisational use.
- Teachers may use the platform with dummy or anonymised student data only.
- Free accounts must not be used to process identifiable pupil information.
- No Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is required for free accounts.
1.2 School Accounts
- When a school uses Fast Feedback with real pupil data, the school acts as the data controller, and Fast Feedback acts as the data processor.
- A DPA must be signed by an authorised representative of the school before pupil data is processed.
- By using Fast Feedback in a school context, you confirm you are authorised to act on behalf of your organisation.
2. Data Processing & Security
Fast Feedback is hosted exclusively on UK-based Microsoft Azure servers. We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Fast Feedback uses Azure-hosted GPT models for marking support and reteach content generation. All data processed by GPT or OCR remains within the Fast Feedback Azure tenant and is not shared with external third parties for any independent purpose.
IP addresses and basic technical logs may be collected for security, audit, and system performance.
3. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity under your account.
- You must notify Fast Feedback immediately of any unauthorised access.
- Free accounts must not upload identifiable pupil information.
- School accounts must ensure their use complies with their internal safeguarding and data protection policies.
4. Charges and Account Types
Fast Feedback offers multiple account types:
- Free Teacher Accounts — provided at no cost and intended for individual use with dummy or non-identifiable pupil data. OCR and AI features may be available, but free accounts must not be used with real pupil information.
- Paid Teacher Accounts — provide enhanced features but remain for individual use only. Paid teacher accounts must not be used to process identifiable pupil data unless the teacher’s school has signed a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
- School Accounts — allow use with real pupil data once a DPA is in place.
School-controlled pupil data will be retained only while the school remains an active customer. If a school trial ends without upgrade, all pupil data will be securely deleted.
This retention rule does not apply to any quiz questions created or uploaded by teachers or schools. Such questions may be retained within the global question bank.
5. Quiz Questions and Intellectual Property
Any quiz questions created or uploaded to Fast Feedback may be added to the global question bank.
By creating or uploading questions, you grant Fast Feedback a perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, adapt, and display those questions within the platform.
All intellectual property in the platform—including software, design, underlying systems, datasets, and the global question bank—is owned or licensed by Fast Feedback.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Fast Feedback IP to you.
6. Service Availability and Liability
Fast Feedback aims to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.
To the extent permitted by law, Fast Feedback is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the platform.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
